Welcome to WildwoodNJBoardwalk.com! Find all kinds of information about the Wildwood NJ boardwalk rides, the boardwalk food and my experiences at the Wildwood NJ Boardwalk and Moreys Piers. In 1969 the Morey brothers purchased 16 acres of ocean front land now known as the Wildwood NJ boardwalk. This land cost about $345,000. When they decided what they were going to do with the land they realized it was going to cost more than what they paid for it. The Morey brothers had decided to make one of Wildwoods greatest attractions yet by building a boardwalk. Today the Wildwood NJ boardwalk consists of 3 piers with over 100 attractions. The creative brother, Jack came up with the idea. The logical brother, Will figures out how much they will spend for each ride/attraction. Putting their talents together enabled them to please all the tourists with their wonderful attractions. Today many people stay in Wildwood instead of Atlantic City because Wildwood has rides and Atlantic City does not. A number of years ago one of the three piers caught fire which forced the brothers to come up with new ideas to regain the tourists at their pier. They both thought really hard and got lots of new rides. The brothers say they try to add a new kiddie ride every year, a new family ride every three to six years and a new major ride every seven to ten years. This is a great place to go when you have nothing to do at night or during the day. |
